Q               What allergens are declared/managed on site at Extrusion Co?

A               At Extrusion Co the main declared allergen we have in our production process is gluten, given that wheat flour is a major raw material and

occasionally soy as in soy lecithin (emulsifier E322).

Q               Is Extrusion Co – Halal certified?

A               Extrusion Co is Halal Certified by FIANZ– our products meet Halal requirement. Please enquire if you have any questions.

Q               Is Extrusion Co – Kosher certified?

A               Extrusion Co is not currently Kosher certified – but given the absence of any animal or fish proteins in our products, our products are potentially

suitable for Kosher. Please enquire if you have any questions.

Q               Does Extrucion Co use Palm oil in any of your products?

A               No - we do not use Palm oil in any of our products – the main vegetable oil we use is Canola.

Q               Does Extrusion Co use any ingredients that may contain genetically modified organisms?

A               No – Extrusion Co Ltd endeavors to ensure that all ingredients used on our premises are Non GMO. Based on information provided by our

suppliers, no ingredients contain or have been manufactured with genetically modified organisms.

Q               Does Extrusion Co use artificial colours in its products?

A               No artificial colours are used in any Extrusion Co products – we only use NZ Food Safety Authority approved natural colours. The main natural

colour we use is Annatto (norbixin) E160b for various golden crumb formulations, we occasionally use paprika E160c and Curcumin/turmeric E100

to customise colour requirements for some clients to produce yellow or brown shades of crumb.

Q               Does Extrusion Co offer a ‘clean label declaration’ on its products?

A               Yes - we can formulate various crumb products to achieve a ‘clean label declaration’ – please contact us directly.

Q               Does Extrusion Co use any returned or used bread products to make its crumbs?

A               No – all Extrusion Co crumb and stuffing products are made from fresh, traceable raw materials. Returned bread from supermarkets has traditionally                            been reprocessed into breadcrumbs – but due to a lack of traceability and pasteurisation, these types of crumb products present a significant food                              safety risk – especially when used in coating raw meat and fish.

Q               Does Extrusion Co offer a ‘Gluten Free Coating Crumb’?

A              Please refer to the ‘No Gluten’ Product Section. Extrusion Co can offer an excellent ‘Made from No Gluten’ product. We have an intensive clean down                          routine in our factory prior to running these products to minimise the risk of any cross contamination – our label declaration will state “This product is                          made from 100% gluten free materials – but is manufactured in a factory that also process gluten based products.” We do work with clients to test                                product for any presence of gluten on a batch by batch basis to give them added confidence.
